Great SSD drive

What a difference solid state makes! The company for which I work send me a Crucial BX500 960GB 3D NAND SATA 2.5-Inch Internal SSD (this is an Amazon affiliate link). Not only was this drive a little short of a terabyte, which was nearly four times the capacity of the 250GB drive that it replaced, but the read/write speed was significantly faster. I did not measure a before and after, but the difference was immediately apparent. The company has a free, downloadable app that will clone your existing hard drive to the SSD, which makes the swap out a snap. On my Lenovo T400, it took less than five minutes to physically swap out the old drive for the new one. I highly recommend this upgrade if you are running out of space on an older mechanical drive, or you want the reliability of a solid state drive that you will never get from a mechanical one.
